Well Hellooo Fall!

I was hoping you'd show up soon...

Okay so this weather...cloudy skies, cool breezes, and all components pointing towards the requirement of a cozy sweater?! I'm in love!

Fall is quite frankly my FAVORITE time of year.
Everything from craft fairs to Halloween/way too early Christmas displays in Walmart. From hot coco to spiced pumpkin ale and the list is just sooo long and pleasant.

This year I am exceptionally excited because I now have my own place to do what I wish when it comes to the holidays!
I current have my Halloween decorations creeping out from the storage boxes and into the apartment, a gorgeous orange and auburn mum sitting outside my window and a lovely spice candle glowing in the kitchen...*sigh just perfect.

I also, recently, just dabbled in the art of wreath making (never in my life thought I'd achieve such a crafty hobby) and I'm obsessed O_o
Pinterest has been the guide to blame for the next following months and thank God my boyfriend just let's my crazed obsession wreak havoc without a word....he's a trooper! ;)

Living here in Hog Country, the Razorback season is a holiday in of itself so I had to show my pride! My goal was to have it done before the first game and sure enough it was ready for kick off, GO HOGS!

Hobby Lobby has been my hunting ground lately and I've found some awesome Halloween decor this year. I really love the old vintage holiday decorations and Hob Lob didn't disappoint me! I'll have to post my Halloween haul soon but I'm still collecting little bits at a time so when it's done I'll definitely share!

Until then I'm going to make a cup of tea, snuggle up in a thermal blanket and watch a scary movie.
Any suggestion, I'm always down for a new horror flick so please share!

A bientot!

Spring Cleaning

Yes dear ones it is that time again, time to clean out the old and restock with the new!
I consider Spring Cleaning to be both a physical and emotional cleanse, that being said I would love to share with you a few of the things that I will be cleaning out and kicking to the curb.

Out With the Old...
1. My Bad Habit: I have a very strangely bad habit at avoiding the "outcomes". Meaning if I get grades back, critiques, alerts, emails etc. I will avoid looking at them to the very last possible second. Why? I don't know I guess I afraid of getting bad news or facing disappointments. I assume what they are and if I don't see it I can't be disappointed from it right? Nope.
I'm tossing this one out.

2. Allowing People To Crawl Under My Skin: Obviously this one will take time and sadly in a slow process but it needs to be nipped in the bud. I don't enjoy the feeling of allowing people to control my emotions so this one will be tossed out.

3. Letting Go: In all cases. Items that hold no purpose anymore, emotions, past mistakes, petty feelings etc etc etc... If it happened in the past LET.IT.GO.

4. Neglected Wardrobes: Time to clean out the closet! Either donating to Goodwill or to my little sister who thankfully welcomes my hand-me-downs (only the best for you Pook)

5. Documents: My mom always said if you have documents older than six years past then throw them out. My poor filing books will be so thankful!

In With the New...
**This area is currently pending due to some exciting things I have coming up**
The wedding of a dear friend, a vacation with my boy, roadtrips and concerts in the works and possibly/hopefully a new opportunity coming my way!

luggage chic.

It was glorious!

A New Year, A New You

Yes I am fully aware that I am quite behind on the "New Years Resolutions" posts and that my presence has been so far gone from my little bog that it might as well not exist.
Sadly this is all too true...however I will not give up on my little piece of "me" that I would enjoy sharing with everyone. So for those of you that do read my blog or happen upon it or have been very disappointed with me and my absence, allow me to truly and deeply apologize.
Or if it is just me enjoying my little rants and insights (which is entirely okay) then I apologize to myself as well.

First of all I would like to recap a little about the crazed mess that 2012 turned out to be:
I had good reason as to why my little blog was so neglected and the entirety of that was that I was not truly myself. You can not enjoy what makes you happy unless you are truly happy with yourself. My number rule is TAKE CARE OF YOU. You may find this selfish or an obvious fix but I had to learn the hard way that before anything can be accomplished or even allow yourself to progress you have to find happiness and peace in yourself in order to accommodate your needs and wants.
Secondly I was given the opportunity to start with a clean slate after last year that I am going to take full advantage of and make the best out of every moment of 2013. Life is too short to stress about people and situation that, in the long run aren't going to effect you and the way you live your life. You know who your friends are when it comes right down to the eruptions that we sometimes find ourselves in. I am so blessed to have such caring and understanding people in my life and I wouldn't trade them for the world. :)

So on that note here are a few things that I have decided to dedicate myself to for the remaining new year and further:
1. Take Care of You.
(I already mentioned this but its so important that it needs to be restated)
2. Keep Your Expectations Low.
(I plain to do this in all things, that way there is no room for unnecessary disappointments and when things really go your way you will appreciate your hard work and blessings more)
3. Throw Out Negativity.
(Pictures, people, places, things, etc! If they bring you down delete it from your life. You don't need it, its not going to get better, and if you're putting too much time and energy into it and getting no return then why in the world would you want that in your life)
4. Getting Back to Family.
(I am dedicating myself to stay in touch with family more. They are the people who've known me my entire life and are the strongest way in which I can "take care of me". Yes there are those crazies in every family but if you didn't have them then you really wont appreciate the awesome way you turned out! Haha j k...)
5. Getting and Staying Healthy.
(This is not "I'm going to lose 50lbs this year!" "I'm going to lose weight and keep it off!" generic resolutions that normally gets lost in the cosmos of the year. No, this is a dedication I'm making to myself to take care of my body, appreciate it, and treat it the way it deserves...and if I lose weight in the process then bully!!)

Of course there are more, even pages more, but I won't bore you to death.
Lastly I want to add that of course I want to rededicate myself to this blog. It makes me happy and feel better to see my thoughts, rants, favs, and randomness in front of me. I'm not sure why...so to make a realistic dedication I will have postings once a week and if I discover something that absolutely needs to be shared then of course you will be the first to know!
Here's to a new year and the many adventures that come this way, cheers!

Nooks and Corners

Okay so a few of my close friends had asked me to show off some of my decorum I had going on in my new apartment. I thought about it and was like what the heck why not??
It's still a work in progress though..I was going to wait for the finished product before I posted but I was too excited and I'd love to take you on the journey with me....maybe even throw in some ideas to help me out!

I love the way mirrors open up space in a room and the ones I have found over the years evidently mesh perfectly for a small collage! The "Bonne Nuit" glitz just gave it a more cozy touch I thought..

These fair ladies are some of my favorites that have been moved to their own space on the wall (their other home was getting pretty crowded). You'll soon see that I'm obsessed with two things...jewels and books.
....
{just to share with you I acquired most of these pretties from Versona and Savoir-Faire...a boutique in which I work and spend a lot of my time thinking how everything there should be apart of my closet}

Oh trunk space...you can never go wrong! They create such a creative corner and  collecting them over these past three years has been a blast! Problem is I can't stop...what in the world do I use them for you ask?  These are currently touting around my grand DVD collection!
{you can also store blankets, magazines and anything else that needs a home that can be both cute and creative}

If you haven't noticed I love clutter..controlled clutter is what I like to refer it as. I have worked in retail for quite awhile now and over the years my jewelry collection has become a little ridiculous..I love pretty things, so sue me!
I used to stress about how my jewels weren't getting the attention they deserved by being stuffed away in a jewelry box for no one to see so I knew the only way to solve this problem was to go antiquing! I found that old ash trays have the greatest complement with jewels given their unique shapes and colors plus their priced from $5 to $12 bucks..can't beat that!
{Again my two obsessions are books and jewels..any chance I can mix the two together I take full advantage of it} ;)

My treasure box....
{rings stored in a unique box/bowl never fail to make a gal smile}

On the other side of things...my loyalty and devotion to Paris will always ring through my decorating regardless of anything I try to do differently..it's in my heart and I'm in love, why fight it?
{Ode to Hobby Lobby..}

Last but not least..every room needs a furry face to make it special. I belong to this little lady and she is my treat when I come home in the afternoon after a long day at class/work. I love my Toph :)

I hope you liked my favorite corners of my room...I'm hoping to have more completed at the new place because empty space is just not my thing! Currently waiting on my bookcase from Target..once I get that set up I may have more to share!
Until next time loveys

Sadly I have been neglectful, yet again, of my dear little blog..
please accept my dearest apologies.

I have a few goodies lined up that I'm excited to share with all of you!
Not going to spoil the surprise but I'll just say that some decorum, new reads, and a new friend will soon be introduced by yours truly!
In the mean time I wanted to share with you some things that are non-stop running around in my head...and this picture is the nut shell that I needed to sum it all up..
See you soon!!

What's your worth?

"To be beautiful means to be yourself"

Don't let others or situations put out your sparkle, flaunt what you've got and don't give a damn who sees ;)
