What's your worth?

"To be beautiful means to be yourself"

Don't let others or situations put out your sparkle, flaunt what you've got and don't give a damn who sees ;)

Make Room for the Good Things

"I believe that everything happens for a reason. People change so that you can learn to let go, things go wrong so that you appreciate them when their right, you believe lies so you eventually learn to trust noone but yourself, and sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together."

- Marilyn Monroe

This has become all too true for me this past week. I've been given the opportunity to grow and I'm eager to start this new path laid before me! My reset button has been set.
I'm learning (slowly mind you) how to let go and let live. People change -which hurts, careers turn out to be something different than what you anticipated- extremely frustrating, and what
you thought was one thing turns out to be another disappointment...

BUT!

I'm begging you, recognize the blessings that replace the dark/vague spots. However small they may appear- they happen for a reason. They are your reminders that "hey, this too shall pass".

Now enjoy this picture of an adorable boxer that always brings a smile to my face :)

If It's Broken Don't Fix It -- Get A New One.

"Should you find yourself the victim of someone else's bitterness, ignorance, smallness or insecurities, remember this: Things could be much worse...you could be one of them."

"To be able to move on, one has to learn to forgive not only the person (or people) who have done wrong but also oneself." -Eugenia Tripputi

I find myself having difficulty separating myself from an issue that is really upsetting me. I think about it and over analyze it  for day, weeks until I want to put myself out of my head! However, I forget to just stop. breathe. start over.

Here's a little something for those who are having a hard time. Know that it will get better. It always does. You just have to give it the opportunity to walk through your door. <3

Are You Green with Envy Today?

Hope you're wearing your green today lest you be pinched ;)

May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind always be at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
and rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.

Have a great St. Patty's Day!
Watch for the pinchers....

"We must live for the few who live and appreciate us, who judge and absolve us, and for whom we have the same affection and indulgence. The rest I look upon as a mere crowd...from whom there is nothing to be expected but fleeting emotions."

"You are responsible for how you feel no matter what someone does to you.
Remember, you are always in control of your thoughts so choose to feel confident and adequate rather than angry and insecure."

You're worth so much more than someone's inability to recognize awesome when it slaps them in the face.
You're gorgeous now strut your stuff ;)

A little something special...

So I've decided that every other post will be dedicated to someone who has shaped me to be who I am today. I know for a fact if it wasn't for these darling individuals I don't know where I'd be...

This weeks blog will be dedicated to my cousin Danielle (otherwise known as "E'ell" or "Dan'ell").
To those of you that are blessed enough to call themselves an older sister we all know that through our own mistakes, stupid decisions, and big choices we wish we could have had someone to ask for advice or turn to.
I was blessed enough to have my cousin Danielle play the older sibling for me in my own, lets just say, not so elegant moments.

She was one of three great people to ignite my love for literature (hence English major) , BBC movies and more currently crafts!
Also on a more personal note I know I can count on her to relate to any random spurt of my own logic/philosophy whether its deemed appropriate or not...&& Danielle I'm sure you know what I mean haha!

Love&miss ya E'ell

p.s.I felt that the picture was appropriate ;)

Alice in Vogue? Love.

"If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is, because everything would be what it isn't. And contrary wise, what is, it wouldn't be. And what it wouldn't be, it would. You see?"
-The Mad Hatter, Lewis Carroll

Alice in Vogue, could you think of anything better?
Other than Tim Burton's twist on one of my truly favorite books, adore him.
Hope you enjoy as much as I do!
*Don't worry I had to pick my jaw up from the floor too*

Le Sigh

It has been too long since my last blog. So much has happened and the sad thing is none of it is that exciting, just stressful....
However, I found these two quotes that made me smile.
It's the little things in life my dears.

Florence + The Machine

I have to admit this was the most fun road trip and best concert I have been to in the longest time. Granted it was a 10 hour drive and I was close to believing that my arse would never be the same but it was well worth it! Can't wait till next year, thanks for showing me the best time Milwaukee! I'll be back ;)

Just a Few Things..

* Things are starting to fall into place
(however the outcome is leading to completely new territory)

*New opportunities have been set in front of me
(very excited but again it's a totally new direction)

*Re-evaluating where I'll be in five years
(have no freaking clue)

*Learning to let go and let God
(discovered I have control issues in that department)

*Not letting things get to me, I have no time for stupidity
(in all seriousness)

*Taking things from moment to moment
(days are too unpredictable)

*Going forward and holding on tight because honestly I'm scared to death....but thats the fun of it all right? :)

So Close.....

Im so close to my freedom from finals I can see it in the horizon!
Being that much closer to freedom means being that much closer to starting my very long reading list for the summer.
I couldn't be more excited! Sadly it's been months since I've read a book for pleasure and not for academic purposes.

Here is a glimpse at what Im up against:
1. Awakened P.C. Cast
2. City of Fallen Angels Cassandra Clare
3. Rooms James L. Rubart
4. Emma and the Vampires Jane Austen and Wayne Josephson
5. Dead Beautiful Yvonne Woon
6. Passion Lauren Kate
7. Graceling Christan Cashore
etc. etc. etc...

Barnes&Noble anyone?

Rainy Days and Mondays

Sadly I won't be celebrating my rainy afternoon with a good book and cozy sweat pants. No I'll be spending it getting some very needed studying out of the way to start my hell week off positively. But to make light of the situation I think a cup of chai tea should get me through it...
